Case study of blended learning course on PLC fundamentals


A large MNC was looking for a training solution for a specialized group within the organization. The group needed to quickly attain functional excellence in the area of industrial automation, PLC, SCADA. That was for a mission critical need of their business.

Enggenious team analyzed the learning objectives, background of target audience & constraints. While other solutions available for the client were just about traditional classroom training, Enggenious experts designed a 4-phased innovative, unique solution to deliver high value.

Blended learning solution

We proposed a blended learning approach – mix of webinar to establish the context with overview of the subject; self-paced learning of fundamentals through subscription of eLearning module which is designed and developed by Enggenious; a comprehensive classroom training program and a very unique learning experience through remote triggered lab after classroom training sessions.



A webinar was the first phase of the training program. Agenda was be to establish the context, communicate the learning objectives and a quick overview of the subject.


Fundamental theory part was covered in this module. Paved a way for a more meaningful Instructor-led classroom training (ILT) program. Participants were given access to the cloud-hosted eLearning module for 7 days before classroom program.

Classroom training

In the classroom training, the focus was on complete understanding of all the required topics and sub-topics as agreed mutually through comprehensive hands-on practical and case studies. That was for 5 days.

Remote triggered lab

Our lab can be accessed over internet. Learner can log in with the given credentials and can operate the lab by self. Course participants were given access to this remote triggered lab for a week after classroom program.
